Kind of tempted, to be honest.

2 doors is always the right number of doors

I meant to be an actual match to the Landau Sedan I have sitting, but point taken.

I’d “make an offer” about $20 lower, and see what happens. Having a match for a 1:1 car is fun.

I figured that, was just a bit shit talking.

Finding die cast models of 4 door cars is hard. Same thing for non top-of-the-line cars. I tried to find a 1/18 model of a 1960 Bel Air, but all I can find is Impalas.

Particularly since it’s a dealer promo car, I believe. There appear to have been two of the friction motor ‘59 Lincolns made - the above, and a topless one.

AMT made a later snap-together kit which goes for a lot as well.

Finding any models at all of a ‘59 Lincoln is almost impossibru. The only ‘59 Lincoln models I’m even aware of are the two dealer promos (Continentals) and a later AMT one which hasn’t been made in, oh, forty years. At least they still *make* the ‘60 Impala.

Yep. People like the promos. I have had a number of them over the years. This one, with no box, and some faded chrome, should be a bit less than the boxed one you linked to. On the plus side, this one looks nice and straight, as these can really warp.

TBH, I wouldn’t mind having both eventually, just for the heck of it, but there’s only one that’s a hardtop in Peacock Green Metallic at the moment, so that’s where the sights are fixed. Because it didn’t have very good sales numbers and McNamara conducted purges at Lincoln immediately afterward coinciding with the new Engel ‘61, I don’t think anybody but AMT ever bothered getting tooled up for these cars in any way - Dinky’s French division (!) for some reason made a small die cast of the ‘58 Premiere, but for the ‘59 AMT is pretty much it.

Go for it. I would put in an offer and see what happens. Probably not a lot of people beating down the door for this, so worst case, you might get a counter offer. I’m not immediately aware of any diecast of 58-60 Lincolns other than the Dinky, either.

Wrong car but so close to being the right car you need to buy it anyway

I agree. I thought you’d get a kick out of this. Did you see in my other reply to someone that dealer promo Edsel thing for the ‘59 Edsel? This thing is actually *from* ‘59, and apparently there was a convertible version and a hardtop version - Mark IV Continentals only. I may get the convertible as well.

I’ve got a Ford Ranger that was a dealer promo by AMT in the 90s, so they apparently had been Ford’s go-to for years and years at that point.

I did see the one about the Edsel. That was cool too. Where did you find this anyway? Those have to be pretty rare now.

1) Thought it was a real car from the thumbnail and disappointed.

2) Read comments and found out you have the real thing and got happy.

3) Cannot get Mr. Regular saying “Here’s my toy car” out of my head

I just happened to GIS this morning for scale ones and there was a good eBay listing - see the link in the post. I’ve seen these before, but I think a little pricier. Same GIS turned up the little Edsel thing that confirmed these were an official thing.

I have a toy car of my Ranchero (two, actually), a tiny toy car of my Rover, but none of my Benz or the Lincoln - yet. This thing is choice - I highly recommend I pick one up if I have the means.
